Krishna appeals to the government to financially support the television industry


Cinematographer, director and

producer Krishna

has requested the

central government

and state government to announce financial package for Kannada television industry. Krishna on his twitter page posted, “Kannada television industry alone contributes 1,000 crore in

Karnataka film

and television together generates 1,600 and 1,750 crores.Please announce economic packages to revival of our industry.”

Krishna’s wife Swapna Krishna is currently producing the serial Subbalakshmi Samsara which has gone off air temporarily as the makers don’t have bank episodes as the shooting has been stopped owing to lockdown. The serial is expected to back on air once the shooting resumes on May 25 with all the precautionary measures and minimal crew as per the guidelines from

the Kannada television association

.

Krishna who last directed Pailwaan will be now directing Nikhil Kumarasamy starrer project which will be a family entertainer is produced by Lyca productions. The initial rounds of discussing had taken place in the last year. The project is likely to be made in Telugu and Tamil as well. Krishna started as a cinematographer with the movie Romeo Juliet before working in more than 20 Kannada films as cinematographer. He rose to fame as a cinematographer for his work in Mungaru Male. Krishna made his debut as a director with the movie

Gajakesari

in the year 2014 which was a commercial entertained got reasonably good response at

the Box Office

. In his second outing as a director, he teamed up with Sudeep for Pailwaan which also received terrific response from viewers.
