Kavya Gowda gets temporary relief as High Court stays FIR in family feud case
In a major legal development, the High Court has granted interim relief to television actress Kavya Gowda and her husband Somasekhar by staying the First Information Report (FIR) registered against them and putting a temporary halt to the investigation in a complicated family dispute case.
The order was passed on Friday after the actress filed a petition challenging the FIR and seeking protection from what she described as a counter-case filed by her relatives. The court directed that no further action be taken in the investigation until the matter is heard in detail.
According to the allegations from Kavya Gowda’s side, the dispute escalated when members of her husband’s family allegedly attacked her and her spouse. She claimed that her husband was stabbed and that she herself was physically assaulted. Both sides have lodged complaints and counter-complaints, making the situation legally complex.
This relief from the High Court provides temporary respite to the actress and her husband, allowing them to legally challenge the FIR and seek a comprehensive review of evidence before the case proceeds.
At present, no official comments have been released by the police or by representatives of the other family members regarding the High Court’s ruling. The investigation into the original complaints and counter-complaints remains on hold pending further judicial review.
Background of the Dispute
The controversy erupted within a joint family residing in Bengaluru, where disagreements reportedly spanned personal issues and property matters. Several FIRs were registered at a local police station following violent altercations between the two sides.According to the allegations from Kavya Gowda’s side, the dispute escalated when members of her husband’s family allegedly attacked her and her spouse. Legal Proceedings and Current Status
In her petition before the High Court, Kavya Gowda contended that the FIR registered against her and her husband was improperly filed as a counter to the complaint they had originally lodged. The court’s interim order now pauses the investigation and requires authorities to await the outcome of further hearings.
