Kannada TV actress Vaishnavi Gowda has recently found herself amid a controversy regarding a scene from her popular TV serial, Seetha Rama The incident has garnered attention after a viewer complaint highlighted a traffic rule violation depicted in the serial, leading to a fine being imposed on the actress.
The controversy surfaced when a viewer named Jayaprakash Ekkur from Mangaluru, Karnataka, voiced concerns over a scene in the 14th episode of Seetha Rama. In the scene, a Vaishnavi was seen riding a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet, a violation of traffic regulations.
Jayaprakash filed a complaint expressing strong disapproval and urging strict action against Vaishnavi Gowda, the serial's director, and the channel airing the show, citing the negative impact such scenes could have on society by normalizing disregard for traffic rules.
After responding quickly to the complaint, authorities redirected the matter to the Mangaluru Traffic East Station for a thorough investigation. Subsequent inquiries revealed that the scene was filmed in Nandini Layout, Bengaluru.
On May 10, the Rajajinagar police station issued fines of Rs 500 each to Vaishnavi Gowda and the vehicle's owner involved in the scene, holding them accountable for the traffic violation depicted on-screen.
In light of this incident, the production manager of 'Seetha Rama' assured officials of adhering to traffic regulations in future episodes, acknowledging the importance of promoting road safety awareness, particularly regarding the mandatory use of helmets.
Seetha Rama, a popular Kannada drama series since July 17, 2023, has garnered a significant viewership base. Starring Vaishnavi Gowda, Gagan Chinnappa, and Ritu Singh in lead roles, along with a talented supporting cast including Pooja Lokesh, Mukhyamantri Chandru, and Ashok Sharma, the show is an official remake of Zee Marathi’s TV series, Majhi Tujhi Reshimgath.
