Sanjana Burli has become a household name, primarily due to her lead role, Sneha, in the immensely popular daily soap "Puttakkana Makkalu." However, the road to success for this talented actress was far from a cakewalk.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Sanjana Burli candidly shared her experiences, shedding light on her arduous journey, the lack of opportunities, and much more.
Sanjana's story is one of determination and perseverance, as she revealed, "With no godfather in the industry, I started my acting career by surfing 'how to become an actress' on the net. It used to be a routine for me back then. I did not even have any idea how to get that one contact in the industry as well. So, my journey in the entertainment industry started from the scratch level."
Despite the initial challenges, she began to carve her niche in the industry. She went on to explain, "As I started to make my own space in the industry, I realized there were very limited opportunities, and I started to grab everything that came my way. Every opportunity made me feel that it would give me a break in my acting career. I was in such a mindset."
What many might not know is that Sanjana Burli has also ventured into the world of cinema, having acted in seven films in both Kannada and Tamil. However, only two of these movies made it to the theaters, and their performance suffered due to inadequate marketing. Her journey in the film industry was indeed a challenging one.
Sanjana's true breakthrough came with her small-screen debut in the show "Lagna Patrike." Despite a glimmer of hope, the show was short-lived and ended in disappointment as it got shelved prematurely.
It was the turning point in her career when she landed the role in "Puttakkana Makkalu." Sanjana revealed, "It was through 'Lagna Patrike' I bagged 'Puttakkana Makkalu.' The makers had watched me in 'Lagna Patrike' and contacted me for 'Puttakkana Makkalu.' Luckily, 'Puttakkana Makkalu' gave me the break I wanted in my career."
Despite the fame and recognition she has garnered through the show, Sanjana remains candid about her ongoing struggles. She expressed, "But still, I feel I am struggling. There is still a lack of opportunities. To many, it might look like I am enjoying a successful stint as an actress. But, the fact is not that."
