I had to wait the entire day for my shot, wasn't used to it: Gattimela's Sharanya Shetty

Kannada TV has always welcomed talent with open arms and here is the latest proof. Model-turned-actress Sharanya Shetty is making inroads into the Kannada entertainment industry proving to be one of the promising talents on the block.
In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Sharanya Shetty spoke about her passion towards acting and her journey in the industry. Take a look...

Childhood passion

With her father an established name in the film industry, Sharanya's childhood was all about attending premiere shows and visiting shooting spots. "Since my father was a film distributor ten years back, he would take me to premiere shows and shooting spots. I used to get fascinated upon seeing the celebrities. Especially during their shooting hours, I was amazed on seeing them switch between roles. That's how I got inclined towards acting."

3/8

Following her passion

Having joined engineering, the actress stated that she was more inclined towards cultural activities than her studies. "My college days were going well. Apart from my studies, I was very much active in cultural activities. I joined my college fashion team and participated in a couple of ramp walks. Eventually things started falling in place for me."

4/8

Successful Model

Having gained confidence in modeling, Sharanya pushed her limits and forayed into nationwide fashion competition. "I heard about the Miss Bangalore competition and decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, I even got selected there. After that I contested in Miss India 2018, where I even made it to the finals. I have also won the title of Miss South India 2019."

The new entrant to the vamp club

With success coming her way, the actress even acted in a few Kannada movies. "Although I have acted in movies before, it was Gattimela which gave me a break.I was quite hesitant in the beginning when the makers offered me Sahithya's character as it was for a negative shade. I was scared about the response I would receive from the viewers."

6/8

Juggling between college and shoot

Juggling between college and hectic shoot hours is quite a task for the actress. "I accepted Gattimela only because the makers told me that the shoot will be for only fifteen days a month. So, I thought I could balance between my college and shoot. But then, it's entirely different now. I hardly get time to attend my classes.”

7/8

Newbie to the acting industry

Acting gave the popular model a high. "While modeling, I was always given the first preference. But it's not the same here. I had to literally wait the entire day for my shot at times. I used to feel very bad because I have never been treated like that in my entire life.”

8/8

Enjoying the limelight

Sharanya’s happiness knows no limits as she is enjoying fame that she earned with the show Gattimela. "I’m very happy about my decision right now. I am glad I accepted a character with negative shades."
