Speaking about it with ETimes TV in an exclusive interview,
Chandrakala will be seen essaying the character 'Shanthamma' in Dasa Purandara.
"Nearly twenty years ago, I had essayed a character named 'Shanta' in the daily soap 'Modala Mane'. The character had indeed won many accolades back then. Coincidently, I share the same character name in the new show as well. I essay the character '
Besides, the new show also marks a new milestone in the actress' career.
"Dasa Purandara is a big milestone in my career as it is the 50th project in my career. I consider myself lucky enough to bag a project even amidst this pandemic. It is also difficult to be a part of big projects lately. But, I am fortunate to be a part of many superhit serials in my career. Of course, it was never a cakewalk. I have had my own ups and downs in my entire acting career. Luckily, I have always worked with amazing teams. Whatever I am today, I completely owe it to my directors and the viewers. Without their support, I would not have made it so far," summed up the ace actress.
Meanwhile, the new show Dasa Purandara is based on the life story of saint-poet and the pioneer of Carnatic music, Purandara Dasa from medieval times. It will also showcase the richness of the Vijayanagara kingdom, which is now in the eastern part of central Karnataka.
