Kannada shows that went off-air unnoticed

Kannada television witnessed a lot of shows going off-air in the last one year. While a few shows concluded their journey amid the lockdown, a few went off-air they did not score well in the TRP charts. Here is a list of a few Kannada shows that went off-air unnoticed.

2/6

Sarasu

Daily soap Sarasu which featured Skanda Ashok and Supritha Satyanarayan went off air recently. The showm, which was said to be a remake of Bengali soap 'Mohar', had completed 200 episodes during the time of going off-air.

3/6

Haadu Karnataka

The music reality show went off air during the time of nationwide lockdown imposed by the government due to the rage in Covid-19 cases across the country. Although the makers did try to resume shoot post lockdown, the team had to face many technical challenges.

4/6

Rukku

The show that marked the comeback of Shoba Shetty to Kannada television after three years concluded its journey recently. Rukku went off-air as it did not manage to fair well in terms of viewership. It just aired 100 episodes.

5/6

Lagna Patrike

Lagna Patrike aired only for two months. The show concluded its journey due to poor response from the viewers. Director Arvind Kaushik in an interview told Bangalore Times, "The viewers’ and my thoughts didn’t match. They are used to seeing a certain set pattern on TV and I tried to break it. They like drama, over-the-top emotions, and loud talk. I tried my best to stay away from those, but in the end, we had to give in to popular taste and go down that route too. But it looks like even that couldn’t salvage the situation."

6/6

Ranganayaki

Ranganayaki turned out to be everyone's favorite post its premiere. The show also enjoyed a huge fan base. However, the show went off air amid the first nationwide lockdown in 2020 due to the rage in the novel Coronavirus. Speaking about the same with us exclusively, actor Mithun Tejaswi who played a prominent role in the show said, "Ranganayaki was a very good show. Initially, it was scoring well on the TRP charts. But unfortunately, things did not fall in place. There was a drastic dip in terms of TRP. So, concluding the show was bound to happen."
