Daily soap Sangarsha completes 500 episodes

Sangarsha

has completed a successful run of 500 episodes. The show premiered on June 15, 2020, after the first nationwide lockdown due to the rise in Coronavirus cases. Sangarsha airs on a leading Kannada general entertainment channel (GEC).

The show is all about a young aspiring woman, who becomes the sub-collector of a district that is being dominated by an arrogant and powerful woman named Byradevi. While the sub-collector tries to set things right in her jurisdiction,

objects to it, which eventually leads to a tiff between them. How the sub-collector succeeds in her mission amidst all the hurdles forms the crux of the story.

Yesteryear actress Vanitha Vasu is seen portraying the character of 'Byradevi', who doesn’t want the school in her village to run at any cost, as she thinks that if people get educated, she would lose control over them.

Although Sangarsha is a remake of the Tamil serial 'Ayudha Ezhuthu', suitable changes have been made to the narrative to suit the nativity of Kannada TV viewers.

The channel airing the show has launched a new teaser, which created a huge buzz among the audience. Besides, the show also marks the comeback of actress Tejeswini Shekar on Kannada television.

While Tejaswini plays the female lead,

essays the male lead character.
