Ameeta Kulal joins deluge pouring into the Telugu TV industry

Actress Ameeta

Kulal

is the latest in a line of

Kannada

actors to be making a splash in the

Telugu

small screen industry. She is starring in the serial,

Rowdy Gari Pellam

, which also has Kannada actors Adarsh and Sujatha Akshaya in prominent roles.

Ameeta, who began her career in Sandalwood with movies such as Aa Eradu Varshagalu,

Jagath Kiladi

and

Gift Box

, says, “Telugu television is flooded with Kannada actors. I am glad to join the evergrowing list. I was wondering how audiences accept actors from other industries here. After I stepped into Telugu television, I realized that it all boils down to how we get into the skin of the character to strike a chord. This is what matters, not where we are from. I am happy that people are loving my onscreen character, Eshwari.”

Elaborating on her character, Ameeta explains, “Eswhari is a teacher who doesn’t want to harm anyone and takes her job seriously. Having Adarsh, who is from Karnataka, as my co-star helped me settle down in the initial days. As I know a bit of Sanskrit, it became easy for me to pick up the nuances of Telugu.”
The actress is also keen to return to Sandalwood, "I am getting roles which are quite similar to what I am doing in Telugu. As an actor, I want roles which push me out of that comfort zone," she sums up.
