Akshitha Bopaiah

,who was last seen in the Kannada serial

Varalakshmi Stores

, is making her presence felt in the neighbouring

Tamil TV

industry. Since switching over with Azhagu, Akshitha has been a part of shows like Thazhampoo and Rekka Katti Parakkudhu Manasu, while her ongoing

Kannana Kanne

has already done over 200 episodes.
Naturally, the actress is elated with the opportunities that have come her way. “One thing that I admire about the Tamil TV industry is that they shower love and respect on quality artistes, irrespective of where they come from. I am enjoying a successful stint here and Kannana Kanne, which is my fourth Tamil serial, is doing well on the

TRP

charts. Though I found the language tough to handle initially, it took me just about a month to pick it up and can speak it with ease now. What’s helped is that Tamil shows are not shot with sync sound, unlike Kannada. The artistes dub for their portions later,” says Akshita, who has not even been visiting her parents back home in Gonikoppa, even though the team of her show has been shooting with utmost safety protocols and most are vaccinated.

With her career graph on the upswing in Tamil, has she bid adieu to Kannada? The actress, who has done Kannada films like Real Police, Brahamachari and I Love You, says, “My ultimate dream is to make a mark in Sandalwood as a lead actress. I have a few films like P5 and Trivikrama, which are ready to release. There was a Kannada serial too that I wanted to do, but I had to excuse myself, as I had to stay back in Chennai for Kannana Kane.”
