's father Professor Krishna Gowda passed away on October 3 in Bengaluru following a prolonged illness. He was suffering from Alzheimer's for the past eight years.
Yamuna took to her Instagram handle to share the news of her father's death as she mourned his loss in her life. The actress shared a collage of a family portrait on her social media handle and wrote, "In losing him I lost my greatest blessing. My heart aches as I share the sad demise of my father, Professor

He died of a heart attack last night," (sic)
The actress is indeed going through a rough phase as she has lost her beloved father. Condolence message has been pouring in for the actress ever since she announced her father's death.
Meanwhile, in an earlier interview with Etimes TV,
Yamuna opened up about her father's illness and said, "My father has completely lost memory and control over the body due to Alzheimer's. From having trouble recognizing people and forming new memories, in just a span of one year my father has completely lost memory, now unable to recognize anyone."
Having said that, she concluded by saying, "We have witnessed this incurable disease from very close quarters as my father is affected by this. It is indeed heart-wrenching to see him in this condition. A true stalwart, who once served in the
Mysore University
as a professor of Economics and with an impeccable record as the Controller of examinations at the Mysore Open University, now needs our attention."
