Actress Karunya Ram welcomes CCB action in online harassment case, says, "I trusted the legal process"
Following the news of her dispute with her sister over alleged financial fraud, Karunya Ram is yet again back in the news. This time, it is regarding her claim of receiving justice after a Central Crime Branch (CCB) inquiry into online harassment and defamatory comments made against her.
The Sandalwood actress has stated that the matter, which caused her significant personal distress, has now been addressed through legal channels. In a video message shared on social media, Karunya Ram revealed that she had approached the CCB after facing inappropriate and defamatory remarks online. According to her, complaints were filed against five individuals who were allegedly responsible for spreading false narratives and making objectionable comments about her.
Karunya said that the CCB summoned all those named in her complaint and questioned them as part of the inquiry. “Everyone who was called admitted their mistake and expressed regret for their actions,” she said, adding that she felt relieved and satisfied with the way the case was handled. She also clarified that she chose to follow due process rather than creating public noise around the issue.
Speaking about the importance of reputation, the actress said that building a name in the industry takes years, while damage can happen in moments. She stressed that she has always conducted herself with dignity and has never engaged in wrongdoing. “I have never listened to rumours in my life. I believe truth always wins,” she said, while thanking those who stood by her during the controversy.
The development comes close on the heels of reports about a family dispute involving Karunya and her sister, which had brought her into the public spotlight earlier. That issue, which involved allegations of financial fraud and personal distress, had prompted the actress to seek police intervention, drawing widespread attention and debate.
With the latest development, Karunya Ram has once again highlighted the growing concern around online harassment and the need for accountability on social media platforms. She urged people to be mindful of their words and actions, stating that casual online behaviour can have serious consequences for others.
Reaffirming her faith in the legal system, Karunya concluded by saying that she is grateful the matter has been addressed and hopes her experience encourages others to stand up against online abuse while following lawful means.
