is hitting all the right notes. The versatile singer was approached by the government to sing for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan recently. He was so excited at the opportunity that he finished the song at top speed! He narrates the incident, “I was really happy on hearing that I was going to be a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. I recorded the song in 30 minutes flat!”
The song, which Rituraj sang in Oriya language, holds a special place in his heart. He says, “This song is special to me because it has a beautiful message and I have sung it in my mother tongue.”
When asked what the message is, he replies, “The message is to keep our India clean, by eradicating the habit of open defecation in India, replacing the insanitary toilets into pour flush toilets and removing the system of manual scavenging. It also attempts at educating people about healthy sanitation practices by bringing behavioral changes in them. To link people with the programmes of sanitation and public health in order to generate public awareness.”
The singer, who has sung in films, including 'Teraa Surroor', 'Bangistan' and 'Bhoothnath Returns', has dedicating the song to the Prime Minister. “Apart from the people of India, this song is also dedicated to Narendra Modi because Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is his journey and I strongly support him.”
