Aftab Shivdasani tested positive for
coronavirus, his co-actors, who were shooting with him for a project in Lonavala, underwent tests as well.
Zain Imam was one of them. The actor, who became a household name as Neil Khanna in ‘
Naamkarann
’, had told us, “We returned to Mumbai on Wednesday. The following day we learnt about Aftab testing positive for
COVID-19
and immediately underwent tests. I hope it’s negative. I am taking precautions, following home remedies and not stepping out. I had a few meetings lined up, which I have cancelled. I had to cancel a few meetings I had committed to, so that others are safe.”
However, fans of the actor can breathe easy. Zain has tested negative for COVID-19. The result came late last night. He shares, “Yes, I have tested negative. However, as a precautionary measure, I am still not stepping out because preliminary COVID tests aren’t always precise, because sometimes symptoms take time to develop. So, as a responsible citizen, I am not going out unnecessarily. Although I am absolutely fine, I will get the antibody test done in a few days.”
He adds, “I was anxious throughout this time. I informed my parents in Delhi, my hometown, after I tested negative. I didn’t want them to panic. They, too, told me to avoid stepping out and keep having haldi-milk, kadha and take steam.”
The actor has a special message for Aftab. He shares, “I’m glad that Aftab is feeling fine. He is a nice guy to interact with. People say that we look alike. I’ve been an admirer of his work, especially his comic timing. We had a great time shooting together. I hope he gets well soon and meets his family, especially his little princess.”
