Yeh Rishta's Parul Chauhan to marry Chirag Thakkar: A look at their love story

Television actress Parul Chauhan, who is currently playing the role of Swarna in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is all set to tie the knot with beau Chirag Thakkar on December 12.

Talking to Bombay Times, the bride to be was quoted saying, “My family and relatives have been waiting for me to get married. Everybody had this question, so finally, yes, the time has come."

She even added saying, "I am getting married on December 12. We haven’t zeroed in on the venue yet, but there will be a court marriage in Mumbai, followed by a small function in my hometown, Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, and a get-together in Mumbai.”

Their wedding rituals will get kick-started from December 11. Parul and Chirag's wedding will be a low key affair with their friends and close friends in attendance.

The couple will even host a lavish reception one in Parul's hometown Lakhimpur Kheri near Uttar Pradesh and another one in Mumbai for their industry friends.

According to reports, Parul and Chirag's family has planned over three days pre-wedding celebration including Mehendi, haldi function, starting from December 11.

Parul and Chirag will get married in a traditional wedding in a temple and will later also do court marriage which will take place on the same day.

Parul said that Chriag is not her boyfriend but her best friend. “Chirag is not my boyfriend, he is my friend. We have not dated in the conventional term. If having coffee together and sharing everything with your best friend amounts to dating, then yes, we dated for three years. I met Chirag in 2015 through a common friend and found him to be completely different from the people I come across usually. He is a simple and rooted guy. He did not propose to me. We have been good friends and everything is progressing slowly."

"I realized that I should marry a guy like him when I started to know him better, as he would always keep his companion happy. Last year, when my mother visited me during Diwali, I invited Chirag and his family for the puja. When my mother met Chirag, she said that she wanted a son-in-law like him. The two families eventually talked about it and finally, we are getting married!”, she said.

The two met through a common friend in 2015 and fell for each other. Parul and Chirag dated for over three years and later decided to take their relationship to the next level.

On the work Parul has been part of several TV shows including Sapna Babul Ka — Bidaai, YRKKH, Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and many more. She even participated in dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 3.
