‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ January 1 written update: Armaan takes on new case, Poddar family in full Christmas cheer

Concern about the money persists in the Poddar family, as Rs 85 crore is a substantial amount. The episode begins with Armaan setting up a meeting with Mr. Mittal regarding a case involving his daughter. As they meet, Armaan only agrees to take up the case based on the man’s generosity, but also requests to meet with his daughter first to judge the situation. Tanya tells Abhira about Armaan’s latest meeting and asks her whether she knows a Meher Mittal.Rather than beating around the bush, when Armaan and Meher Mitaal meet for the first time, she confesses that she has killed someone. Armaan feels shocked; however, he lets her explain the situation. Mittal reveals that the person was none other than her driver, who had been working with her for almost 5 years. Sge explains that he tried to take advantage of her when he found her alone. The woman expresses that while she had no intention of ending his life, at the time, it felt as if it was the only way out. The scene shifts to Abhira and Maira as they come across a little girl who wants to buy the same Christmas tree that Maira wished to have at home. Abhira ends up buying the tree for the little girl, believing her when she revealed that it would help her reunite with her father. Abhira and Maira are approached by a group of hooligans who try to steal from her and bother her. Abhira, however, does not back down and instead uses a rod she finds nearby to stop and overpower them. She also teaches Maira an important lesson after the hooligans are gone that it's important to stand up against such people in life, no matter the situation. The Poddar family house, although grim with worry as days go by in the 3-month time limit to buy the law firm, is still in for the holiday cheer. The family is seen being cheerful at their home and preparing to celebrate Christmas with full zeal. As they all prepare for the holidays, Abir and Kiara approach Abhira and offer their jewelry to her to collect the money for the firm. Abhira is shocked and wonders how the couple got to know of the trouble, as she and the entire family had been trying their best to hide everything. Although she hesitates, once Kiara tells her to use everything to save her father, Abhira accepts the help.
