Yeh Hai Chahatein actor Manas Shah on playing a double role in the show: It’s a golden opportunity for any male actor

It’s uncommon for a male actor to have the opportunity to take centre stage in a medium like television, often known for predominantly focussing on women-oriented shows. Manas Shah is fortunate in this scenario. He was introduced in Yeh Hai Chahatein in November last year, and now the makers have crafted a storyline that will feature him in a double role. “The two roles are like chalk and cheese,” he exclaims, adding, “Along with Aditya, I will play Aman, his twin brother. While Aditya is sweet and caring, Aman is dominating and possessive. Aman’s love for Kaashvi (Shagun Sharma) is so intense that he strives to fulfill all her wishes and bring a smile to her face, making him an ideal partner. However, Aman can transform from a hero to a villain in the blink of an eye. Aditya is fine with unrequited love, whereas Aman knows how to win love by any means necessary.”

Aditya is shown to be highly protective of Aman, who had a difficult childhood. Talking about the upcoming track, Manas shares, “Due to Aman’s mental health challenges, Aditya does everything in his power to protect him, even ending up in jail for his brother’s misdeeds. Eventually, it is disclosed that he took these actions solely for his brother’s sake, and it turns out he is innocent.”




Recognising the ‘double role’ as a rare opportunity for a male actor in television, he says, “It's a golden opportunity for male actors, as TV shows are predominantly female-oriented. I entered a show at a time when the story had almost become stagnant. To have that opportunity, the track being appreciated by the audience and now to play a double role -- this show is providing me with all the opportunities that an actor can only dream of.
