Rent outfits instead of buying them: Rajniesh Duggall

I have done a lot of modelling before I became an actor. I learned about fashion in Delhi itself and have always been particular about what I wear

Tips: Jeans, shirts, T-shirts and hoodies can be repeated easily. For example, black shirts, white shirts, denim, and blazers can be worn multiple times.

Eco-conscious choices: I support brands that prioritise sustainable materials, and environment-friendly manufacturing processes. When I need an outfit at the last moment, I try to rent one. This helps me to avoid fashion waste.

Have made countless outfits from my grandma’s saris: Shrenu Parikh

I choose my clothes consciously, and always check the label before I invest in a piece of clothing. Labels often mention if the garment is made using recyclable and eco-friendly materials like bamboo.

Tips: Find out about the making technique, source, and material before you buy a garment. Replace plastic bags with cloth bags while shopping.

Eco-conscious choices: I shop only when I really have to. There are countless dresses I’ve made from my mom and grandma’s saris. All my chaniya cholis, since my school days, are made from old saris.

Give your old garments a creative and new twist: Avika Gor

I believe being trendy and being environmentally conscious need not be two separate things. Repeating outfits is no longer a fashion faux pas, even the most fashion-savvy individuals reuse and recycle their clothes now.

Tips: The trick is to wear the same look across a fairly spread-out timeline. It also helps if the parties are at different locations and with a different set of people. It’s important to preserve basic garments that have been a wardrobe staple; all you have got to do is mix and match and creatively style them with a new twist.

Eco-conscious choices: I’m addicted to vintage shopping. So, I decided to include more vintage items in my work wardrobe as well. I also reuse designer pieces from earlier collections for events.

Mix and match your jeans, white shirts and jackets: Aniruddh Dave

Repeating menswear is relatively easier. I believe that garments like tuxedos, jackets and formal clothing can be worn multiple times in different ways.

Tips: Men can sport their jeans and jackets repeatedly, by mixing and matching things from their wardrobe. I often wear white shirts as it is an evergreen item of clothing. You can wear it countless times and you still won’t get tired of it.

Eco-conscious choices: I hoard clothes. I still have some very old clothes from my younger days. I don’t discard clothes and buy new ones.

Have made tops from old kurtas, exchanged clothes with friends: Neha Joshi

I am very open to repeating outfits. I don’t buy new clothes for award functions, parties, and events. Instead, I style my old ones as per the event. I once cut a nauvari sari that I’d worn once and created two western outfits. I also exchange my clothes with my friends from time to time.
Tips: Cut your oft-repeated long kurta into a crop top and pair it with jeans, skirts, palazzos, and more.

Eco-conscious choices: I upcycle and recycle my clothes. I’ve made curtains from mom’s old saris, stitched pouches & cushion covers from old denims. I use old cotton clothes for cleaning and dusting at home.
