This Rakshabandhan will be a long-distance one for Tina Datta as the actress will be busy with the shoot of her TV show Hum Rahein Na Rahein Hum. Tina anticipated this and celebrated the festival in advance. “Since my brother, Debraj, lives in Kolkata, and my shooting schedule makes it challenging for me to be there, we won’t be able to celebrate Rakshabandhan in person. But we celebrated the festival last month when I was in Kolkata. I even tied rakhi to Brenta jiju (Brent Goble, Tina’s friend Aashka Goradia’s husband) when I was in Goa recently,’ she tells us adding, "On the day of the festival, we will celebrate again over video calls. Utna mazaa nahi aayega, jitna saath mein celebrate karne mein ataa hai, but we will make the most of it. I will send sweets to my brother and jiju, and they also always send goodies for me."

Even though her brother is older, Tina jokes, “Despite his seniority, I feel like the elder one. Bechara mera bhai is like a gentle cow, ekdum bhola hai. Main bahut masti karti hoon uske saath. The bond we share is very special. He is exceptionally caring and protective towards me, just as I am towards him. He is my number one, and I love him the most.”

Recalling her fondest memories of the festival, Tina shares, “When we were young, all my cousins used to come home. The brothers would sit in a line, and we used to tie rakhis. Phir hum sisters ka vasooli time hota tha (laughs). I miss those good old days. We used to have so much fun.”
