Devashish Chandiramani, who hails from Mumbai, is currently seen playing the antagonist in the television show Bhagya Lakshmi. Before getting his debut fiction show, he was part of the reality show Splitsvilla X3 this year. In a conversation with us, Devashish says that he enjoys acting in daily soaps more and prefers this to reality shows."I started my career in showbiz with Splitsvilla X3 this year. And immediately after that I got an opportunity to play the negative lead in a TV show. I feel lucky to be part of Bhagya Lakshmi. I always wanted to be an actor since my school days and now I have fulfilled that dream. I won't deny that Splitsvilla was a great experience but I think acting is my true calling," he says. Splitsvilla X3 gave him a good push and helped him start his acting career, he admits. "I had done the show for the same reason because I was always interested in acting and I somehow wanted to get into television. I had done a music video and a couple of ads before Splitsvilla, but this was a big show," he says.Is he closed to reality shows now? "Not at all," he says adding, "I don't mind doing another reality show, just that I would prefer focussing on my acting career and grow there."
The actor recalls how he began his journey; it wasn't easy but he is happy he sailed through it. He shares, "I was lucky to be born and brought up in Mumbai. But I did have to struggle a lot. I belong to a middle-class family, so I had to manage my monies accordingly for my travel, food etc when I would go for auditions. I used to avoid partying with friends to save money. Those were tough times but I am glad to be here today."
