Prashant Tamang was an admired Indian singer and performing artist. He received vast recognition for winning the title of Indian Idol Season 3 in 2007. Prashant Tamang passed away on 11 January, Sunday, at the age of 42 due to a heart attack. Though he was rushed to a hospital in Dwarka, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The news of his demise was confirmed on Facebook by Pramod Kharel, another singer from the Nepalese music industry.

According to a report by The Kathmandu Post, Prashant never showed any signs of health problems before his untimely demise. Reportedly, it was his mother-in-law who first found out about his passing, and then she conveyed the news to his friend Amit Paul, a former contestant of Indian Idol.
