Who is Pawandeep Rajan? Indian Idol 12 winner and singer; latest updates from his accident
Pawandeep Rajan was born on July 27, 1996, in Champawat, Uttarakhand. He is a celebrated Indian playback singer and musician, who won many hearts as he won the 12th season of Indian Idol. He comes from from a Kumaoni folk music family, where his dad Suresh Rajan, is a well-known folk singer, and mother, Saroj Rajan, and sister, Jyotideep Rajan, are also into music.

Pawandeep's biggest achievement was in 2021 when he won Season 12 of "Indian Idol" through his deep voice and versatility in genres. He emerged victorious from six contestants, including Arunita Kanjilal and Mohd Danish, with the winner's trophy, a car, and a ₹25 lakh prize money.
Besides reality shows, Pawandeep has put out several singles, such as "Yaad," "Fursat," "Mazoor Dil," "Tere Liye" from the film "Romeo & Bullet," and "O Saiyyonii" from "Himesh Ke Dil Se: The Album." He was also a mentor for "Superstar Singer 2," where he guided young participants and shared his musical expertise.
Pawandeep met with an accident on May 5 in Ahmedabad. The singer is severely injured and has been shifted to ICU. Videos and photos from the hospital are surfacing on the Internet and fans are wishing him to get well soon.
In the early hours of the morning, around 3 a.m., a serious accident occurred on National Highway 9, near the CO office of the Gajraula police station. According to police reports, singer Pawandeep Rajan’s MG Hector collided with a stationary Eicher Canter truck from behind.
Station in-charge Akhilesh Pradhan shared that upon receiving the alert, the police rushed to the scene and immediately arranged for medical help. All the injured, including Pawandeep, were taken to a nearby private hospital for first aid.
