When Parul Chauhan's friends had to turn her bouncers in Pushkar
Bidaai actress Parul Chauhan was almost mobbed by her fans on her recent trip to Pushkar. “But I enjoyed the attention,” she admits!
Rajasthan might be reeling under the scorching weather, it hasn’t stopped celebs from coming here for a quick vacay. After telly couples Malini Kapoor-Ajay Sharma and Dheeraj Dhoopar-Vinny Arora, TV actress Parul Chauhan headed to the desert state along with her actor-husband Chirag Thakkar. The actress, best known for her roles in Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, was recently in Jaipur.
Parul tells us, “Jaipur is not a new place for me as I have a lot of friends here. But this time, I also visited Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Pushkar. And the maiden trips to these places turned out to be very special. And the love and affection I got there from my fans was amazing. The moment I came out of Pushkar Temple, I saw a huge crowd shouting both my reel and real names – Ragini (her character in Bidaai) and Parul. In a city like Mumbai, people don’t give a second glance if they see actors on the streets. But here, I was overwhelmed to see my fans. My friends and cousins were also with me and they had to become bouncers for me. They were worried ki itna crowd ekdum se kaise aa gaya. But I was enjoying it all!”
Parul, who played the character Swarna in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, quit the show in February as she was not comfortable playing the role of a grandmother. Parul admits, “I wasn’t okay playing a grandmother so early in my career. And I have no regrets. I have started meeting people (from the TV industry) and will resume work in a couple of months.” Parul got married in December last year and is enjoying marital bliss. Parul says, “A lot has changed since I got married last year, and for good. Now my family is my first priority and I am gradually learning to adapt to this new life.”
