When I decided to take a break and focus on films, my family had to face tough times: Arpit Ranka
Arpit Ranka, who is known for his role Duryodhan in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's Mahabharat, has shifted his focus from TV to films since the past two years. The actor, who took a conscious break shared how sitting at home and waiting to bag a role in films was not an easy task. He said, "It was not easy staying at home and not earning money. When I took a break I had a discussion with my wife Nidhi as she has been through all my ups and downs. We have two lovely children and a lot of responsibilities. We also need money to sustain a particular lifestyle which has to be maintained. My fitness has a particular demand which needs money too."
The actor, who made his Bollywood debut in Ajay Devgn's Bholaa, said, "We stopped all the extra spending and tried to lead our life within a strict budget. There were days when I used to feel sad and bored because I led a disciplined life which included right amount of eating and workouts. Nidhi held my hands in all my difficult times and my children give me hope everyday. My family in my hometown Rajasthan, my mother and my brother have been a great support too.”
The actor, who will be next seen in a South film Kannappa, said, "It’s been a great experience working in Kannappa. I wanted to move to films because I wanted to do roles which will match my personality. Films definitely have a broader vision, larger audience and maximum reach.”
