When Happu Ki Ultan Paltan actress Geetanjali Mishra met Sri Lankan cricket legends!
In the vibrant world of television, Geetanjali Mishra continues to win hearts with her portrayal of the Dabbang Dulhaniya Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. Off-screen too, the actor’s energy and enthusiasm extend beyond the sets especially when it comes to her love for sports. A true-blue cricket buff, Geetanjali not only enjoys watching matches but is also an avid player herself. Her passion for the game recently led her to a memorable encounter with three cricketing legends of Sri Lanka Sanath Jayasuriya, Muthiah Muralidaran, and Aravinda de Silva during her recent visit to the island nation.
Sharing her excitement, Geetanjali Mishra aka Rajesh says, “Cricket has always been more than just a sport for me it is a passion that keeps me grounded, motivated, and inspired on my recent trip to Sri Lanka, I had the incredible opportunity to meet cricketing legends Sanath Jayasuriya, Muthiah Muralidaran, and Aravinda de Silva it truly felt like a dream come true! These are players I have grown up admiring, and to meet them in person, listen to their experiences, and exchange thoughts about the game was surreal. What struck me the most was their humility and dedication despite having achieved so much. We spoke at length about the spirit of cricket, fitness, and how sports can shape one’s mindset, confidence, and character.”
She further adds, “I have always believed that being sporty whether it is playing, watching, or simply supporting keeps your mind and body active and your spirit positive. Sports teach you teamwork, patience, and resilience, which are qualities that help you both on and off the field. I often tell youngsters to engage in some form of sport. It is not just good for your health but also for your personal growth. For me, stepping onto a cricket field gives me the same rush as facing the camera; both worlds demand focus, passion, and heart. And when I am on the pitch, bat in hand, I feel the same joy and fulfilment that I do when performing in front of the camera. It is my happy place.”
