Sumeet Raghavan to turn host after six years
Six years after anchoring 'The Late Night Show', actor Sumeet Raghavan is back as a host with 'India Ke Mast Kalandar'. Point out how he has taken a long break from anchoring, even as an increasing number of small-screen actors are preferring it over acting, and Sumeet replies, “Yes, there has been a huge gap, but that’s because nobody wants me to host, they want me to act (laughs!).Jokes apart, I have been busy with my regional film commitments and a play. So, I wasn’t in a position to take up a daily soap. However, when I was briefed about this reality show, I couldn’t say ‘No’. It isn’t a typical song-and-dance competition, but a hilarious, quirky and crazy show, where the contestants will have to come up with something bizarre to stay in the race.”
Re-incarnation for the lead pair on Zindagi Ki Mehek
After 'Kasam — Tere Pyar Ki', another show — 'Zindagi Ki Mehek' — is all set to go in for a time leap. Post the leap, the lead couple, Mehek (Samiksha Jaiswal) and Shaurya (Karan Vohra), will be re-incarnated. The two will be born in diverse families. While Shaurya’s father wants him to be a boxer, he will be inclined towards cooking (just like Mehek before the leap). On the other hand, Mehek’s father’s desire for a son urges her to turn boxer, as the sport helps her vent her anger.
Karan will sport a casual clean-shaven look, which is different from his current suave look. On the other hand, Mehek will ditch her traditional outfits for a tomboy look with braided hair and boxing attire.
Joy Banerjee to play three characters in a historical series
Actor Joy Banerjee has been roped in to play three characters in director Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s show, tentatively titled 'Loktantra', which is a series on nine great Indian kings. He will play Arjun, Laxman and Chandragupta Vikramaditya. Joy says, “It was quite challenging to pronounce each word correctly, that too with the right body language. I attended a rigorous workshop to train for the parts.”
