What happened is sad, but one has to move on: Sanjeev Seth on his separation from Lataa Saberwal
Actor-couple Sanjeev Seth and Lataa Saberwal recently announced their separation. Speaking exclusively to BT, Sanjeev said, “We were married for 16 years and what has happened is very sad. But I can’t keep sulking and crying over it. Life goes on and one has to move on; I am concentrating on my work right now.”
Sanjeev, who has two children from his previous marriage to actress Resham Tipnis, and a son with Lataa, added, “As of now, I want to spend time with my children and focus on my life ahead.”
Currently seen in the TV show Jhanak, Sanjeev spoke about his return to television after a five-year break. “Before I took up Jhanak, I was part of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke (2020). I was tired of playing beti ka baap roles and needed a break,” he said. During his break, Sanjeev explored travel vlogging, and posting food and travel content. He shared, “I wanted to do something different and I found that very exciting. Now, after five years, I am back on TV; it’s a good role and hence, I took it up.”
‘The 90s were a golden era for television’
Sanjeev, who has completed three decades in television, said, “When I began my career in the 90s, I played lead roles. I truly loved that phase — we did weekly shows back then. The 90s were a golden era for television. Now, there’s too much pressure on producers, directors and actors. Things have changed today, but as an actor all I want is to do meaty roles.”
