We expected support from the Marathi audience: Siddharth Jadhav

After Siddharth Jadhav and his wife were eliminated from 8, we spoke to the actor on what went wrong. While all their performances were appreciated, Siddharth feels that it was the lack of voting that led to their ouster.

FELL SHORT OF VOTES

Few know that Siddharth and Trupti were approached for the show a couple of years ago but due to the actor's work commitments, they had to let go off the opportunity. “This time, we were hoping to make the most of the platform and were expecting a lot of support from the Marathi audience, considering we were the only jodi with a strong connect with them,“ says Siddharth. He goes on to add that the rest of the jodis have a national connect owing to their appearances on Hindi TV but that was not a threat to them. “We were confident of votes but, looking at what happened, I think we fell short somewhere. It is disheartening to be eliminated despite giving a good performance,“ he says.

JUDGES WERE SHOCKED TOO

“It was the first time that we got a full score from all three judges and they too were shocked when we got eliminated after that very performance,“ says Siddharth, who performed to Humdard from Ek Villain with Trupti. The actor says that everyone was left teary eyed after their performance and the judges even took a 10 min break to regain their composure.“Harbhajan Singh, who was a guest on the show, told us that this was one of the best performances he had ever seen,“ informs Siddharth.

However, the pair is hopeful of being called as a wildcard entry on the show later.“We don't know how the process works but if there's a wild-card entry format in the show, we hope to be considered for it,“ concludes Siddharth.
