If you are thinking this is another one of the many bad-man roles actor Vishwajeet Pradhan has done, well this time it’s in real life that he’s taken to politics (ok, don’t get us wrong, just because you are in politics you are not a bad-man, but since the actor is known for his negative roles, the instant recall is maybe he’ll play a bad-politician in some film in the future). Vishwajeet says, “My father was an MLA and I’ve grown up knowing the kind of stuff that goes behind the working of a party and the role of the party people, and I used to think that one day I too would be a part of it. But when acting happened, politics took a backseat in my mind and I concentrated more into building my acting career. However, recently, I went back to my old dream and formally registered as a party member with the same party that my father was part of.” Ask him how he’s juggling between acting and politics, and he says, “Recently when we were in Khurja near Aligarh for a rally, I realised that just the fact that you are an actor adds up to your value in politics. Because you are seen on the screen, whether big or small, the people in remote places are in complete awe of you. They recognised me and that felt good. I’m confident about my stint with politics. But I won’t leave acting, one, because it brings me my daily bread, and second, I realised that whatever little extra recognition I have today, it’s thanks to my acting career.”
