Shruti Panwar, who was last seen in Sasural Genda Phool 2, shares how viewers are not ready for content, which is more realistic.
She says, "It was very disappointing when Sasural Genda Phool 2 wrapped up because the first season had done very well with audiences. Also, I felt that the show had a soul and a good concept and had good actors. So, we were a great team together, both in the first and second season and it was an enjoyable experience connecting with all.
We used to have jam sessions, play antakashari after pack-up and it was great fun connecting with the team."
Talking about the content on television today, Shruti says, "People are not interested in watching stories that have a deeper connect. It is all about 'drama' and creating dramatic situations rather than focussing on a good story. Personally, I have always enjoyed playing characters that are meaty and content-driven. Nowadays, audiences only connect with situations that are loud and dramatic situations."
Shruti had an interesting role in Sooryavanshi and is also doing web shows. She says, "I enjoy exploring all mediums. What matters is my role. It has been an interesting ride in the past two years but I always feel that the medium does not matter. Since I work in all the three mediums, I realise I have learnt a lot in the process and big filmmakers are experimenting with interesting subjects on the web. I am glad that I am getting good offers and I would love to do roles in TV if they have a scope for growth."
