&TV's 'Waaris' inspired by Irrfan Khan's movie 'Qissa'?

Remember Irrfan Khan's 2015 movie 'Qissa'? Where Irrfan played a father who makes his daughter think she is the son. He raises her like a son when one day she grows up to realize she is a woman. Well, &TV's news show 'Waaris' is just like 'Qissa'.
Krushna Abhishek's sister Aarti Singh plays the lead in 'Waaris', who disguises her third daughter as a son. She makes everybody around her believe that she has a son.

An official from the production house, when pointed out similarities with the movie, told that the show is indeed loosely inspired by 'Qissa'.
