When the actors of the serial 'Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo' visited Lucknow recently, the only thing that they had on their mind was to taste Lakhnawi
chaat
. Actresses
Neelu Vaghela, Srishti Jain and Aditi Deshpande, along with actor
Namish Taneja
, visited the city to promote their show. While Namish and Aditi were visiting the city for the fist time, Neelu and Srishti were here for the second time. “Last time I was here as Bhabho of'
Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji
' and this time I am here as Satya Devi, the divorce lawyer from the show Main Maike...” recalled Neelu, adding, “During my last visit to Lucknow, I couldn’t have Lakhnawi food, especially yahan ke kebabs, as I don’t eat non-veg on certain days and it was one of those days that time. But this time I will definitely have them. Even if I am not able to go to the Tunday ki shop in Aminabad, I will have them delivered here in my hotel room.”
After wrapping up all their professional commitments, the cast of the serial went to have the famous Lucknow ki chaat at a popular eating joint in Hazratganj. “It was for the time that I had this thing called basket chaat. It was a unique concept for me,” said Neelu.
Equally amazed by the tikki was Namish, who said, “Maine itni badi basket mein chaat life mein kabhi nahi dekhi hai. It was wow! Also, maine paani poori ka ek naya naam Lucknow mein suna jisko Lucknowites batashe kehte hain. Lucknow ke batashe and Mumbai ki poori mein bahut difference hai but they both taste awesome! This visit to Lucknow was really a memorable one.”

Playing a dutiful son and husband in the show, Namish decided to get into the act and also served batashe to the three ladies accompanying him. “Namish ne hum logon ko batashe khilaye and it was so much fun watching him serve all of us,” said Srishti, adding, “We were four people and none of us could have the whole basket chaat. Batashe, basket chaat and then the papdi chaat – baap re! Lucknow should be famous for chaat also and not just non-veg food.”

Apart from the chaat, another attraction for the actors was the battery operated autos in Lucknow. “I haven’t seen such a thing anywhere. It is a very good move to save our environment from pollution. Lucknow will be remembered for a lot of good things in our minds,” shared an elated Aditi.
