TV actor,
Romil Chaudhary from the show, 'Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum', says that instead of investing money in
firecrackers
, it can be utilised for a noble cause instead. He says, "People spend thousands of money on cracker. Whereas, this money can be used to light up life. One can buy new clothes and gifts for underprivileged kids and bring a smile on their faces. One can also donate the money to NGOs. People can easily make the celebrations healthier and merrier by ditching the crackers and taking a step towards better health and a better future to enjoy a happy
Diwali."
Talking about his Diwali plans, the '
Bigg Boss 12' fame actor says, "Diwali is all about celebration and decorations. I am revamping our house, will light it up, will also decorate doors and windows with flowers. My wife will make a beautiful Rangoli at your entrance as welcome. There are plenty of things going on at my house this Diwali and the festive mood is on. We will offer our prayers to God and enjoy some family time. We will also ditch the market sweets and enjoy making a yummy dessert at home. Diwali is incomplete without sweets and nothing can be better than a bowl of ras malai, jalebi, gulab jamun or kheer made by your loved ones. Parties and celebration go hand in hand, and there isn’t a better occasion than Diwali to meet your near and dear ones, especially the ones you haven’t seen for a while. This Diwali, we are not inviting our relatives and friends but will join them virtually. Looking at the pandemic we shall call our relatives, wish them and spread the joy."
Speaking about his preference for an
eco-friendly
Diwali he says that along with the fun, Diwali also brings pollution caused by crackers, which fills the air with chemicals and other harmful gases in the air. He adds, "This air also seeps into our houses, affecting our health. A sensible approach would be to avoid crackers. The markets are filled with different types of diyas from fancy designer ones to the simple mud diyas. You can be smart and choose between smoke-free diyas from the market or make your own eco-friendly ones at home."
