Tunisha Sharma’s suicide case: From being in depression; supposed ‘Love Jihad’ case to being cheated on; everything you need to know

Tunisha Sharma’s suicide case is currently under investigation with alleged boyfriend Sheezan Khan being in custody. The 20-yr-old actress died by suicide on December 24 on the sets of her show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul. A lot of things have come to the forefront after her passing away. Here take a look at all the major pointers:

Tunisha Sharma’s mother, who had raised her daughter single handedly after her husband passed away, broke down while accusing Sheezan Khan. Her mom made a shocking statement that Sheezan was seeing another girl while being in a relationship. Not only that, he also promised Tunisha marriage but kept her in a loop. Tunisha’s mother said she wants Sheezan to be punished and said he shouldn’t go scot-free.

Tunisha and Sheezan had been working together in the show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul and fell in love on the sets. The show had premiered in August. The couple was in an on and off relationship. FIR reports revealed that the couple had broken up a few days back. It is being investigated if religion or age had any role to play in the case.

After the incident on Saturday, the shoot of Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul has come to a halt. The future of the show, too, seems uncertain, given the fact that Tunisha and Sheezan were the lead actors. However, the cast and crew are hoping that the shoot will resume at some point. “It is going to take some time for the production house to decide how to go about getting the show back on track,” said a cast member.

Currently, Sheezan has been taken into custody for 4 days. Police on Sunday arrested Khan (27) and booked him under IPC Section 306 for abetment to suicide. Police have sought the call details reports of Sharma’s and Khan’s phones to examine the WhatsApp messages exchanged between the two and what could have triggered her to take the extreme step.

According to ETimes TV, the actress' funeral is on Tuesday, December 27. As things stand now, the family has finalised it for December 27 but going by the chaos and shock, the date may change. Sharma family is waiting for Tunisha's aunt (mausi, mom's elder sister) to reach Mumbai.

Tunisha’s co-stars from the show and her friends, well-wishers in the industry expressed their shock. While BFF Kanwar Dhillon shared that seeing Tunisha’s body lying at the hospital will be difficult to erase from his memories, many like Mohsin Khan, Sara Khan, Sayantani GHosh, Rashami Desai and other expressed their shock. Actor Mohsin Khan and close friend of Tunisha shared a picture with her on Instagram and wrote: "Not done Tunu." He posted several pictures with Tunisha and said: "May always smile from d heavens, Tunisha."

Tunisha’s uncle shared that the actress suffered a panic attack a few days back. He said, “She had a panic attack five-six days ago and visited a doctor. She told the doctor ki uske saath dhokha hua hai aur usko use kiya hai. She had also shared this episode with her mother and her house help, who has been with them for the past one-and-a-half year.” The FIR copy read, “Tunisha was in a relationship with her co-star Sheezan. 15 days back, Sheezan had broken up with her, due to which she started living under tension…due to this she was in depression…” A year ago, Tunisha did open up about her mental health and that she was seeking help after a difficult phase in 2018. “I remember when I just started medication, I had turned into a zombie. I hated going to work,” Tunisha had shared earlier.

A preliminary post-mortem report showed her cause of death due to hanging. Police are awaiting details of the final report. Assistant commissioner of police Chandrakant Jadhav, who is supervising the case, said no ‘love-jihad’ angle has come to light in the investigation conducted so far. Also, there is no sign of coercion with Sharma in the post-mortem report, he added.
