Times when Shilpa Shinde courted controversies: From quitting shows to her fall out with producers of Bhabhi Ji and Gangs Of Filmistan

Shilpa Shinde seems to be controversy's favourite child. The actress, who has hit the headlines for quitting new show Gangs of Filmistan (GOF) abruptly, hasn't had an easy life. It's been fraught with accusations and allegations on the work front. After leaving the show, Shilpa has now accused the producers of GOF for leaking Whatsapp chats and shared the mail exchange between them on her social media account. Even her personal life hasn't been so rosy. Shilpa slammed Preeti and Neeti Simoes for leaking their Whatsapp chats after telling her not to do so. Shilpa explained her side of the story by sharing another chat. In her caption, she also shared that she will even post the script of the part she was given to play and the rest of their chat if they spread lies. Sharing the screenshot of their email, Shilpa wrote in her defence, "Stop telling lies as I had already e-mail you on 29th Aug 2020 regarding my issues & wanted to end this matter on happy note & you have replied too. I’ve also received flowers & a note stating “Get well soon and missing you at the sets”. Hence kindly stop this drama. I’ve been unwell while shooting at your sets and currently have COVID symptoms. No one is paying for this but only I have to face... So atleast what you could do is not to spread that you are trying to contact me and all. It is a male dominated comedy, I suppose everyone would agree. I don’t understand why are you claiming to have called me again and again. After this bitterness, I doubt I would be able to do a comedy show with you. So let’s not aggravate the situation then what it is already or else let’s end this on positive note. P.S. Shilpa Shinde, who was supposed to make a comeback on television with Sunil Grover led 'Gangs of Filmistan' (GOF), quit the show even before it could go on air. The actress levelled some serious charges against the producers of the comedy show which included overstretching work hours, exploiting the artists, not giving her script and flouting the new guidelines. She said in her interview to Etimes TV, "We have been shooting from seven in the morning to eleven in the night. I don't know where these association people are. Why don't they notice this.? How artists are being exploited? They are always there to sabotage someone's image, but when we are working for 12 hours and more, nobody is raising a question. We were told that we will shoot for the show only twice in a week but we are shooting everyday." (Photo: Instagram)

If this was not enough, the actress accused the makers of lying to her about everything including Sunil being a part of the show. She further told Etimes TV, "I had mentioned that I will do the show (GOF) on one condition that I don't want to work with Sunil Grover but they lied to me and said he is not there in the show. Later, I learnt from outside that he was a part of the show." She added, "When he is around, you can't do anything. He takes over the entire act. We are never given scripts, our gags get destroyed and we don't get to perform at all. I am not making a comeback to stand behind in the crowd and clap."

When Sidharth Shukla was in Bigg Boss 13, Shilpa Shinde accused him of being aggressive and also told an entertainment portal that she was in a relationship with him. Not only this, Shilpa shared that she knows Sidharth well and even claimed that the channel on which the controversial reality show airs favours Sidharth. She had told Etimes TV during the season, "Sidharth is channel's favourite and you can't deny that. They made him win Khatron Ke Khiladi even though he was evicted from the show thrice. They can do anything for the person they like. Everyone knows about Sidharth's bad temper and misbehaviour on the sets of all his shows." (Photo: Instagram)

This might be an old tale now but the fact that Shilpa has quit another show just recently brings us back to it. Shilpa, who rose to popularity with the sitcom as Angoori Bhabhi, left the sitcom in 2016 over a row with her producers, who she accused of mentally torturing her. She did not hesitate to call the producer of her show Benaifer a tyrant and had a long legal battle with them. She even went ahead to charge Benaifer's husband Sanjay Kohli of sexual harassment. The actress was also at loggerheads with Cine and TV Artistes' Association. Shilpa had even filed a defamation case against the producer, CINTAA and Indian Films and TV producers' council. This one is known to all the viewers of Bigg Boss. Shilpa and Vikas Gupta fought in the house and managed to grab eyeballs. Shilpa blamed Vikas for her ouster from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. In fact, in one of the episodes, Shilpa apparently alleged that Vikas had made a MMS video with a Hindi porn artist who looked like her without make-up from a certain profile. Shilpa was supposed to get married to Romit Raj in the year 2009, but they parted ways before tying the knot. She had then stated that Romit was ' too calculative and dominating'. Her mom also said that after dating each other for sometime they realized their opinions didn't match and in fact their families were also quite different.
