Asmita Sood considers herself 'really lucky' that she started off as a model, graduated to doing
South Indian
films and
Hindi television
shows, and has now forayed into the OTT space.
Ask her which medium is the closest to her heart, and she is quick to respond with this: I cannot choose one over the other. However, the young actress is keen on exploring OTT more. In a video interaction with Bombay Times, Asmita said,"Yes, I would say that I've been really lucky to have explored the modelling business alongside the South Indian film industry and the television industry. And now the OTT space as well. I've been really, really lucky. It's been a great journey so far and each platform has its own pros and cons. I would say that, while the South Indian film industry taught me how to be more professional and how to, you know, respect my job as an actor. The television industry has taught me how to work under pressure. And now the OTT industry has opened up a lot of avenues for all kinds of stories and actors. We see such beautiful web shows that are being made right now. And I think it's a golden opportunity for all the actors out there who are wanting to showcase their talent. I would not say that I would prefer one over the other as all of them have their own advantages. But, currently, since I'm working in OTT and I have just finished a show, I would want to venture more into it and explore more as an actor because a web show is not something that, you know, it's not just driven by the leads, or just one or two characters. It has a lot of characters in the entire story. And every character has its own importance and its own performance value. So I think it's great. I would want to venture more into this and you know, explore more of the kind of characters that I can do as an actor. So yes, it's quite exciting (sic)."
