The truth, the news is still not sinking in: Son Anubhav who's battling cancer on late father Akhil Mishra's demise - Exclusive

Actor Akhil Mishra passed away on Wednesday (September 20) in an unfortunate accident; he was 67. Not many knew that the actor didn't plan children as he raised his nephews like his sons after his brother passed away.

His younger son Anubhav, who is battling cancer said that he wishes to grow as the late actor both personally and professionally.

He shared with ETimes TV, "The truth, the news is still not sinking in, that we do not have him with us anymore. As a kid growing up, I always emulated him and wanted to be like him personally and professionally. A talented person and a wonderful human being at heart he was. It is a great loss for his fans and us, as a family. He will be alive in our life always."

ETimes TV had learnt about his demise as wife Suzanne Bernert expressed her shock and sadness. The actress was away for a shoot in Hyderabad when he incident happened. Reportedly, the actor slipped in the kitchen. The actress rushed to Mumbai. Speaking to BT, Suzanne shared that the actor was standing on a tool to hang the clothes in the kitchen area and slipped.

His last rites were performed by Suzanne yesterday (September 21).

Akhil Mishra played the librarian Dubey, in 3 Idiots and had some comical scenes in the film. He has also been part of films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Well Done Abba, Calcutta Mail and Shah Rukh Khan’s Don. On television, he has been part of shows like Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se, Uttaran, Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna and Shrimaan Shrimati among others.


The actor is now survived by his wife Suzanne Bernert and sons, Abhinav and Anubhav. Akhil married German actress Suzanne Bernert on February 3, 2009. They later got married in a traditional ceremony held on September 30, 2011.
