The Kapil Sharma Show has made a solid comeback on television. With a fresh line-up of comedians and Kapil's trademark style, TKSS is now amongst the most watched shows on television. Hence, their big win at a recent award function doesn't come as a surprise.
The artists and technicians of TKSS won in several categories including best comedy show, best director, best dialogues, best comedy actor and actress. Kapil, the lead comedian of the show, bagged the trophy for being a 'Comic Genius'.
Bharat Kukreti, who is the writer/director of India's top comedy shows, tweeted, "Best Comedy Show, Best Director, Best Dialogues, Best Comedy Actor & Actress, and to top it all Comic Genius for @KapilSharmaK9 #TheKapilSharmaShow wins big."
An ecstatic Kapil quoted his tweet and wrote, "Congratulations team #TheKapilSharmaShow #TKSS." Within no time, Kapil's timeline was flooded with congratulatory comments. The comedian's fans couldn't stop raving about him, and called it a well deserved win.
This is the second season of The
Kapil Sharma Show. TKSS saw an abrupt end in 2017 after Kapil and his co-star
Sunil Grover's mid-air brawl. Things took an ugly turn as several artists left the show. Even Kapil's health went for a toss.
However, things turned around for good as he made a comeback with the second season in December 2018, post his wedding. The new line-up of comedians includes
Krushna Abhishek and
Bharti Singh
. Meanwhile,
Chandan Prabhakar,
Kiku Sharda and
Sumona Chakravarti
continue to be a part of the show.
