Actor
Saanand Verma will soon be seen on the big screen as Saxena in
Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain—Fun on the Run. While the character is already popular on television, Verma says the film offers more than just comedy.
“Comedy is definitely there, but the film has much more,” he says. “There are strong emotional moments, drama, thriller elements, touches of horror, and even a road-movie feel. It’s designed as a complete entertainer.”

Sharing his perspective on success as an actor, Verma explains that recognition comes in different stages. “One level of success is when people recognise you by your real name. Another is when you’re known by one iconic character,” he says. “But the highest form of success is when audiences recognise you by multiple fictional characters.”
He adds that this is something he feels fortunate to have achieved. “People don’t just know me as Saxena. Many also recognise me as Dubey ji from
Apharan Sabka Katega. In fact, some people who haven’t watched
Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain still call me Dubey ji,” he shares.
Verma credits his varied body of work for avoiding typecasting. “Since
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain began, I’ve done close to 35–40 films and six web series. I’ve played very different characters across mediums,” he says, referring to projects like
Pataakha and
Sacred Games.
Talking about Saxena, he notes, “Monotony is impossible with this character. Saxena is unpredictable. I’ve played countless variations within him, which is why I agreed to do the role.”
