The big turnaround for Parull Chaudhry

This new year has kickstarted on a happy note for Parull Chaudhry.

Her short film, 'Watermelon' which premiered at Cannes last year, is set to be screened at a festival in New York now. The actress says, “It's about domestic violence and how no person is completely good or evil; they always have shades of grey.”

Parull says she became passionate about movies made for the festival circuit after she starred in a social awareness film on cancer survivors.“It was about a woman who beats cancer and takes on the new challenges of life. I’m also doing another festival film, 'The Broken Mirror', in which I play the goddess of death," she smiles.

But, how does she balance TV with this? "I just do it because I love both. On TV, I've always done roles with negative shades. But in short films, I get to play characters of substance. So, I enjoy both the worlds," she says.
