The episode of

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

begins with Bapu ji enjoying his tea with khakra. He switches on the TV and finds Rita reporter talking about the soaring prices of lemons. She takes the opinion of the common people about the increase in the price of lemons. Rita talks to 'tantrik baba.' He says that he has become unemployed because of the price hike in lemon and the ghosts are wandering freely. A 'chaat waala' says that he has stored the lemons in a locker and people are auctioning lemons. Rita says, only the rich can afford lemons and the poor will have to abstain from "vitamin c."

Bapu ji worries about this major concern. Rita also says that marriages are breaking because of lemons and asks the officials if the lemons are being black marketed. Bapu ji decides to go to the temple and pray for the lemons' prices to decrease.

Madhavi tells

Bhide

that they have received an order of 50kg 'Neembu ka achaar.' Bhide and Madhavi worry as they will reyqire 35k to buy lemons and they don't have sufficient money. Sonu enters with 'kaande pohe' and asks for lemon but Bhide and Madhavi inform her that lemons are out of their budget now. Bhide goes to his customers to collect his pending amount and buy lemons with that money, squeeze on the 'poha' and relish his breakfast.

A 'nimbu-mirchi' vendor sells it with artificial lemon and says that the real lemon will cost him for Rs 40. Bhide goes to one of his customers' house to take his money but he refuses to give and instead offers him nimbu paani with four drops of lemon juice. Bhide walks away with disappointment in the hope of getting his payment from his other customer.
