Sunil Grover to Ali Asgar; here's why these famous celebs quit The Kapil Sharma Show

The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the most loved comedy talk shows on television and the audience has witnessed some famous faces on it. While these popular names from the industry may have entertained the masses, they made an exit midway, leading to controversies. Recently, Upasana Singh shared that her creative urge wasn't fulfilled and therefore, she quit Kapil's show. She isn't the only one, there are a few more on this list. Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma had a nasty altercation with each other during their return air trip from Australia's tour in 2017. Allegedly, Kapil verbally abused and assaulted Sunil in the flight, which led to the latter's exit from The Kapil Sharma Show. He played Dr. Mashoor Gulati and was loved immensely by the audience. However, things are better than before between the two where they share birthday wishes and pose with each other for photographs too. Recently, Sunil was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack and underwent bypass surgery and Kapil stated that he was shocked to learn about Sunil's health and had dropped him a message enquiring his condition.

Upasana Singh is mostly remembered for her character 'Bua' from Comedy Nights With Kapil and has been missing from Kapil's show for a really long time now. In an interview with BT, the talented actress dismissed the rumours of having differences with Kapil. She said, "I did a few episodes with Kapil but then I realised I wanted to do something creatively satisfying than just be a part of his show for a few minutes. Kapil and I are on good terms and we regularly communicate with each other. I am hoping that he will someday write a role for me because that will justify my talent and creatively satisfy me as an actor. I don't want to work because I have to do something on television. That's the reason, currently, I haven't taken up any projects on television."

Ali Asgar was seen as 'daadi' and various other characters on the show but after the mid-air brawl between Kapil and Sunil, Ali never returned. However, Ali, in an interview with IANS had said that he had creative differences with Kapil and the team and therefore, he quit the show. "We worked there for the longest period of time, but after a certain point, there was a time when I felt that I should move from the show because I had creative differences with Kapil and his team. My character wasn't going anywhere and it was becoming stagnant and I felt there was no scope for creative improvement," said Ali Asgar.

Sugandha Mishra was brought on the show as a teacher with a unique hairstyle but her journey with Kapil's show took a halt after his fight with Sunil Grover. In one of the interviews, Sugandha had said, "After Sunil Grover ji left, there were many changes that happened in the format of the show. And we were not called again. I was going with the flow and I feel my journey with the show halted there." Sugandha recently married comedian Dr. Sanket Bhosale and are seen doing gigs together.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was the special guest of Kapil's show and welcomed the celebrities with 'shaayris' (poems). Sidhu's remark on Pakistan after the Pulwama attack (2019) attracted severe backlash and a demand raged on social media to boycott The Kapil Sharma Show and Sidhu. This led to his ouster from the show and was replaced by Archana Puran Singh, who is still a part of it. Talking about Navjot Singh Sidhum here's what he had tweeted, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."

Bharti Singh has done various characters on The Kapil Sharma Show but off late, she has gone missing due to her other work commitments. The comedian, who is all set to be a mother, is often seen hosting reality shows with husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa. Other than that, they've also launched their digital game show and keep making vlogs on their channel. However, it's been a long time since Bharti was last seen on Kapil's show.
