Sumeet Sachdev on Jhanak: Television has given me so much over the years, the love and acceptance is the biggest reward

Actor Sumeet Sachdev expresses a deep gratitude for the platform of Television, crediting the medium for his recognition. The actor is currently seen essaying the role of Aniruddha Bose in the show Jhanak.

He says, "Television has given me so much over the years. I started the year with a very interesting show called 'Ae Dil Jee Le Zara' where my character who I extremely loved was Karan Bindra - a superstar singer with all the attitude in the world. Not a bad guy at heart but spoilt by all the fame & recognition. It unfortunately was short lived."

"I started Jhanak when this was ending and the short span when I played both characters was very interesting and fun indeed. Other recent roles that I really liked were Sumeet Babbar in Chashni & Kumud Bajpai in a show called Slumgolf," he added.

Speaking about playing Aniruddha after replacing Krushal Ahuja in June 2025, he shared, “Jhanak has been very special to me as it’s a show with immense emotional depth and is extremely fulfilling. What truly makes me happy is the way the audience has connected with me since I started playing Aniruddha. Stepping into a character midway is never easy, especially when the audience is already familiar with him. You have to make sure there’s no break in the portrayal, which makes it even more challenging. I’ve been receiving messages from people across different age groups, and that shows they relate to the character. This kind of love and acceptance is the biggest reward for any actor.”

Sumeet gained prominence for his role as Gautam Virani (Gomzy) in the popular serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He also acted in shows like Karam Apnaa Apnaa, Bandini, Pyaar Ka Bandhan, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein among others.
