Subuhi Joshi's brother inks her initials on her birthday

hosted a party for her family and friends on her birthday. Her day started with a few traditions that she follows every year. She says, “Every year, I visit a temple in the morning on my birthday and an orphanage in the afternoon, and this time was no different. On my birthday eve, I held a small get-together with my close friends. I hadn’t met them properly since long, so, what better occasion than this. I am glad that they all came and made the day special for me.”

While she made sure that everyone had a gala time at the do, the birthday girl herself was in for a sweet surprise when her younger brother flaunted his newly-acquired

tattoo

, which had her initials inked on the area just above the inside of the bend of his elbow. She shares, “My 20-year-old brother, Tanmay, got the initials of my name tattooed on his wrist, albeit in an interesting fashion. He got 'Ess' for 'S' in Subuhi and 'Jay' for 'J' in Joshi. He showed it to me at the party and I was so overwhelmed with his sweet gesture that I cried.”

And what did she gift herself? “Some family time,” she replies, adding, “For so many years, I’ve celebrated my birthday without my family. This year, I’ve especially called my mother and brother from Delhi to be with me on my big day. This is the most precious gift I have given myself.”
