She feels that negative roles are more challenging. “Also, the show was taking a leap and I was not sure where my character (Shabnam) was heading.”

Shagun feels that a negative character gets etched in audiences’ mind for a longer time. “I prefer to do negative roles because there is so much to learn from it. It also offers a lot of scope for performance. I don’t like to cry, I make people cry instead,” she smiles.
