Sreejita De and husband Michael Blohm-Pape share stunning photos from their traditional Bengali wedding; see pics
Television actress Sreejita De and her husband, Michael Blohm-Pape, who first married in Germany last year in a Catholic ceremony, recently celebrated a Bengali wedding. Around a year and a half after their initial nuptials, the couple renewed their vows on Sunday, November 10, in Goa. After their July 2023 wedding in Germany, Sreejita and Michael decided to renew their vows in Goa, weaving Bengali customs into the celebration.
The actress has now posted some stunning photos from her Bengali wedding, capturing the beauty of the ceremony. Sreejita shared a series of images on her Instagram, offering a glimpse into the intimate celebration. She captioned the photos as, "Cherished for life, taken forever…"
For her Bengali wedding, Sreejita wore a classic red saree, paired beautifully with gold jewellery and a traditional topar on her forehead, embodying the elegance of a true Bengali bride. She completed her stunning look with a golden dupatta, capturing the essence of tradition perfectly.
Meanwhile, Michael looked dashing in a peach sherwani and pyjama, complemented by a traditional topor or mukut, adding an authentic touch to his attire. Together, the two made a truly stunning couple.
Goa held a special place in their hearts, as they had shared memorable times there during the lockdown. This setting became the perfect backdrop for a heartfelt ceremony that combined their love, traditions, and shared history in a meaningful way.
Recently while talking to Bombay Times, Michael spoke about how they believe in respecting both backgrounds, Michael shared, “People often ask us how many weddings we plan to have! From the start, it was important for us not to combine our traditions into one ceremony. We wanted to honour and respect both of our backgrounds. Having already created wonderful memories with our German wedding, we’re now excited to relive those emotions through a Bengali wedding.”
