Splitsvilla 13 fame Samarthya Gupta to play Shatrughna in Srimad Ramayana, says 'I'm immensely passionate about acting' - Exclusive

Reality TV star Samarthya Gupta is making his acting debut with mythological series 'Srimad Ramayana' featuring Sujay Reu in the role of Lord Rama and Prachi Bansal plays the role of Sita.

Samarthya said, "I always wanted to be part of varied acting projects. I did theatre during my engineering. I'm immensely passionate about acting. I'm excited to finally make my television acting debut. I will be seen essaying the role of Shatrughna in Srimad Ramayana."

Shatrughna was born to Dasharatha (Aarav Chowdhary) and Sumitra (Bhawna Aneja). He was the youngest prince of Ayodhya, who later became the King of Madhupura and Vidisha. He is the half-brother of lord Rama. He is the twin of Lakshmana. It is also believed that Shatrughna is an incarnation of the Sudarshana Chakra.


Sharing about coming on board to play a prominent role of Shatrughna in 'Srimad Ramayana' Samarthya revealed, "I did auditions for some other project with the production house, but what you are destined to do… you will always get that. This is how I cracked the role of Shatrughna in the show. I'm always grateful to the supreme powers for the given opportunities."

Samarthya known for appearing in reality TV shows like Splitsvilla X3 (2008) and Ex or Next (2022), credits his reality TV experience. He shared, "Reality shows helped me in understanding more about myself and I had a life enriching experience doing such shows."

Shrimad Ramayan, is receiving immense popularity, while the country is currently awaiting the comeback of Lord Rama in Ayodhya at the grand Ram Mandir on January 22. The show previously replaced Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. It also features popular actors like Mohammed Saud Mansuri, Basant Bhatt, Nirbhay Wadhwa, Shilpa Saklani among others.
