Sourabh Raaj Jain: Writing has been a passion and is therapeutic for me
In addition to acting, Sourabh Raaj Jain, best known as Lord Krishna on Indian television, has a penchant for poetry. The actor often expresses his thoughts through self-written quotes and poems on his social media platforms. He shares, “Writing has always been a passion and serves as therapy for me. Since childhood, I have maintained diaries, establishing a profound connection with words that allows me to articulate my thoughts effectively.”
The actor made the most of his passion for writing during the pandemic. He says, “Amidst COVID-19, I began consistently sharing Mahabharat Diaries and giving the audience an insider view into my memories of shooting for the mythological show. I had contemplated sharing my writings earlier but was waiting for the right time. As I shared my first piece, penned during a flight, based on clouds and their own world, everything fell into place. This is a different side of me aspiring to connect with people in the most authentic way.”
Known for defying stereotypes by transitioning from portraying the positive character of a deity to the end of the spectrum by playing the villainous Dhananand in Chandragupta Maurya, Sourabh can now be seen as a news show host. Speaking about the switch from acting to hosting a news show, he says, “I love embracing new challenges, as they allow me to learn something different. While I was already an avid news viewer, the past few months have been a crash course in politics, world events, and more. I’m glad I can continue hosting alongside acting, making both endeavours possible simultaneously.”
Apart from being seen in Mahabharat as Lord Krishna and as Dhana Nanda in Porus, Sourabh has been part of shows like Remix, Meet Mila De Rabba, Kasamh Se, Jai Shri Krishna, Parichay, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, Uttaran, Patiala Babes and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.
