Sonal Vengurlekar robbed on her TV set

TV actress Sonal Vengurlekar, who is currently seen as Devyani in the TV show 'Shastri Sisters', was robbed early morning on Friday when she was shooting at Filmcity, Goregaon. Apparently, the whole team of the show was doing a night shoot the previous day. It was at 2 am when the actress decided to take a break and went to her room to use the washroom.When she came out, she found a man in an inebriated state in her room. He was apparently looking through her belongings, which were lying about, scattered. Sonal immediately pushed him, ran out and locked him inside the room.

She alerted her crew members, too. Once he was confronted, the intruder pleaded for mercy. However, the actress realised that he had stolen her mobile phone. She got it back after her unit managed to track it down. The man was taken to the Aarey Police station and a complaint was registered.
Sonal confirms, “It was strange that a man could sneak into the room so quickly when I just opened it and went into the washroom. Luckily, he couldn’t fight back when I pushed him inside as he was drunk. I am happy that I got my phone back, but I do feel that women should learn martial arts so that they can protect themselves in such circumstances.”
