Sneha Namanandi on keeping her performances fresh; says ‘Every character is a blank canvas’
Sneha Namanandi, widely recognized for her portrayal of Shivina in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, has steadily carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. Known for her versatility and empathetic approach to acting, she shared insights on what it takes to transition from one character to another.
“Moving on from one character to another can be both liberating and challenging,” Sneha explains. “Each character leaves a part of itself with me, and some are harder to let go of than others. However, I see it as part of the process.” For Sneha, this process involves a delicate balance between personal and professional boundaries. “Personal life can definitely impact your professional life, but I’ve always tried to maintain that thin line. I never take my personal problems to the set,” she says, emphasizing the importance of professionalism.
Sneha believes that bringing freshness to every role is essential. “Each character is a blank canvas. I focus on its unique traits, emotions, and challenges. Observing people around me and collaborating with my co-stars and directors ensures that my performance feels genuine,” she says. This approach, she believes, keeps her craft authentic and helps her grow as an artist.
Reflecting on her experience as Shivina, Sneha reveals that the character’s lighthearted and fun vibe resonated with her own personality. “I’m generally a chill, easygoing person, so that came naturally to me. On the other hand, serious roles require deeper emotional connections, sometimes drawing on past memories to evoke the right feelings.”
For Sneha, the journey of discovery with every new project is what keeps her motivated. Her dedication to her craft and her ability to adapt to diverse roles make her a name to watch in the industry.
